Product details
W'Menswear was founded by Lauren Yates in 2015, born out of a desire to produce high-quality, heritage-inspired garments for women — with a nuanced and ever-evolving perspective on femininity at the intersections of fashion, workwear, military garments, and history. Originally operating out of a converted shipping container in Bangkok, the brand has grown substantially with each new collection, employing specialty and custom fabrics as well as partnering with local workshops and artisans.
The Spring/Summer 2025 collection is titled "Spinning For A Revolution," and draws inspiration from early women's cycling apparel, suffragette cyclists from the late 1800s, and the writings of Dervla Murphy — whose stories detailed her solo bicycle journey from Ireland to India in the early '60s. Following its invention, women began to enjoy unexpected new freedom through bicycle travel, allowing them to access social spheres and spaces outside of the home, and freeing them from the restrictive dress norms of the era.
The W'Menswear x Kardo capsule collection brings the strengths of both brands together, riffing on familiar silhouettes from W'Menswear's line with handwoven textiles, natural dyes, and atelier-style construction.
"Natural dyes and handwoven textiles have embodied a woman's relationship with Mother Nature for thousands of years. They are powerful portals that women have used to tell stories through the ages. Continuing this legacy is our small contribution to Indian wisdom crafts."
The Ralley Coat is an update to the Hunters Jacket from previous seasons, with a more relaxed A-line silhouette and the same comfortable fit and abundance of storage. Featuring four roomy front pockets with inverse box pleats — allowing them to sit flat when not in use and expanding when filled, as well as two large back pockets that sit above the hem (one on the inside of the jacket and one on the outside).
It's made from a hand-loomed, 100% cotton, 3x1 denim fabric with white Kantha topstitching and Khadi fabric trims. Khadi is a traditional Indian cloth made from handspun yarn and then naturally dyed (or left undyed and unbleached). In this case, both the denim body and Khadi trims are colored with natural indigo, and will gradually fade over time as a result of wear and washing.
The 100% cotton lining features a custom tiger print design, and the elbows are reinforced with circular embroidery and additional Kantha stitching. There are brass eyelet vents on the back of the arms for comfortable ventilation, and the front placket closes up with four custom Kardo buttons.
Fits true to size with a relaxed fit. Wash warm and dry flat.
